Meet Ruben DeLagarza and
Maria C. Govea
"It all started here at Western Washington University, I’m a union carpenter and I started there at the Rec Center. We built that. After that we did Higginson Hall and the last one I worked at was Miller Hall. Every time we would go to get something to eat, we would end up over at Vendor’s Row and would buy from QQ Li's. That’s all there was at that time and I thought 'there’s no Mexican food here!' For most of my life, every picnic that we went to, I was the one behind the grill, my sister always said I was King of the Grill."

"When we make our foods, they’re health conscious. We don’t use a bunch of oils, we try to be as fresh as possible and cook small batches. We use all fresh ingredients on our meats and slow cook them."
"When we're making our food, we make it just like I would if we were at one of my picnics. I'm behind the grill just feeding my family... and I want my customers to feel the same way. We make our food with a love and a passion and we want Bellingham to feel that."
